Hi Jeff
it didnt work for me to email, as i am a new user of kindle maybe i hadnt activated this function on my account prior to sending. anyway, didnt work & so i downloaded in .mobi; dropped & dragged into kindle documents(specific folder) worked. then i tried to download the 1540 bible, in comodo, couldnt save it, switched to mozilla, and saved & dropped into kindle documents(.mobi); OCR not working, so i used pdf with text file; and it works but i have to work out if i can navigate the document. i itried to download the english hexapla; but OCR couldnt read latin in .mobi. would you recommend which type of file may work best, please jeff?

you need to create a @kindle.com address in your amazon account and email it to that.

Hi Jeff
I have created kindle cloud for email transfer, but english hexapla is unable to be read because file type is not supported.
i could not open the file on my desktop, because it is adobe acrobat reader could not open the file because it is not a supported file type, or the file has been damaged by sending by email.
I would like to download english hexapla, skeat's etymological dictionary 2nd edition, and the great bible 1540, onto some sort of device preferably ereader to use in a mobile situation, without resorting to internet access to use them. i would like to have them stored on a device so that i can navigate them mobile.
how is this possible, please?

the mobi should work in kindle. you can download the epub or pdf to read offline in adobe digital editions or calibre. mobi also works in calibre.
